The OGT Computational Biology team is based at our central facility in Oxford. This group of people are experts in computational management, data-algorithm, high-performance computing, statistical processes, and biological processes.
The Computational Biology team is divided into two primary sub-teams:
The Software Development team develops the software that is used in conjunction with our next generation sequencing (NGS) panels and microarrays. For NGS, the team has developed Interpret Software and, for microarrays, they have developed CytoSure Interpret Software.
The Data Analysis team is responsible for the analysis of the data that is produced by the software. The analysis of this data is subsequently provided either externally to the customer or internally to the R&D team depending on the project that is being run.
Becoming part of the Computational Biology team has meant I have experienced part of the essential role bioinformatics has within the healthcare industry. It’s been fascinating but challenging to collaborate with other members of R&D to work towards the delivery of new products with exciting potential.
